The role-based access control is a security measure or method used in computer systems organisations, having sensitive or confidential information. Role-based access control works on the basis of permission assignments (or giving access controls) to different users (authorised) based on their roles with that information. When we design a software, their intended users are defined and declared initially for their accessibility and permission over that data. These are information accessing policies for which different users are assigned roles and their permissions accordingly, or in other words, the privileges are declared. Some users can only access (or read) the data, some can write or make changes on that data, and some have no access over this data, as per assigned by the permissions.
